It makes me crazy!!! I have email accounts, work accounts, and passwords all around. It makes me crazy. IT is my thing, I love it, but I cannot stand all the passwords. I have a gmail account, yahoo account, Blogger account, work email, cox email account, twitter account, delicious account, paypal account, ebay account, online banking, online payment for phone, blackboard, instructional resource accounts. TOO MUCH and several others....it is no wonder people abandon computer use sometimes. It is too much for the average users...it's too much for me and I'm NOT the average user.
Of course, you should not use the same passwords for everything, but my husband and I have three or four that we rotate around and change and use variations of etc, but it makes ME CRAZY. Especially wiht those accounts you do not access on a regular basis. It just makes we crazy.

Giant Food update
The manager at the Burke Giant called me! He was very sorry for what happened, and assured me that something like this will not happen again. He spoke with the woman who "did nothing" to clarify that she needs to do something next time...IMMEDIATELY.
He was very upset with the dirty bathroom situation and informed his entire staff that this should never happen again. (He has been a that store for three weeks). I am pleased that he called me but I am still very concerned about using that Giant in the future...little ole' Kings Park Giant is suiting us fine....

Disgusting Restrooms -Unhelpful Employees - Burke Village Center Giant - Store #0757
Okay, we all know that public rest rooms are awful. However, my family had the worst, most disgusting experience at a grocery store. Giant Food in Burke VA on Burke Road and Burke Lake Road had the most disgusting restrooms I have witnessed in a long time. The ladies room had toilet paper and paper towels all over the floor. The floors looked like they had not been mopped in months. The handicap toilet was full of toilet paper and other stuff and the rests room smelled like urine and other things that had been sitting for months. This was the better of the two rest rooms. The men's room was another story completely. There was human feces on the floor in addition to other unidentifiable liquids. The feces had been noticeably stepped in and tracked out of the rest room into the food store.
Okay, so the restrooms were horrible and you would think that an employee of that store would be mortified and embarrassed that a customer would witness this...however, that was not the case. When we informed that service desk employee, Fatima, that the restrooms were horrible and described that scene, she said there was nothing she could do because the one who cleans the restrooms does not come in until the morning. This was 7 pm on Tuesday evening. I proceeded to raise my voice, purposefully, and say how "unhealthy it was to have that disgusting restroom in a grocery store where you sell food items...and employees have to use the same restroom then take care of my food items or stock shelves etc...it is so disgusting. Why not close the restrooms...make them out of order until they can be cleaned properly.
My poor husband had to take my 4 year old daughter (who was about to wet her pants) into that feces decorated men's room because the ladies room was being used by someone who obviously needed to sit for a while. If the ladies room had two functioning toilets it would have been better than the men's room...but unfortunately that was not the case.
Now, my question is...what is the issue here? Is it an employee who is too lazy to clean the restroom, too uneducated to realize that telling a customer that "there is nothing she can do" is maybe...BAD FOR BUSINESS...or is it a bigger issue all together...Giant Food used to be a great place to work (I worked there years ago) and shop (all my life)...however, it was taken over by a large company that is no longer located in the Washington Area and they keep cutting hours of the employees. Quality and Value that had made Giant THE grocery store of the Washington area, is being replaced with self checkout and excuses. There used to be service clerks who helped you put your bags in the car...that has been replaced by cart corrals in the parking lot and employees who are cart retrievers.
The personalism that Giant had spent 50 years building up in this area....is gone with the death of their president Israel Cohen...and the sale of the stocks of the company to a large corporation...it is a real shame.
I am offended by the unprofessionalism and lack of urgency by your associate about this completely disgusting issue. I have emailed my friends and family with the link to my blog so they will not shop at that Giant again...that Giant was also one of the stores featured in a recent newscast in the Washington area related to bad meat being returned by a customer, then placed back on the shelf for sale. Something needs to be done to solve these issues whether it is at the store level or higher.

Washington Area Weather....
What is up with the weather in the Washington Area? I worry that this a precursor to something bad in the atmosphere...but it is nice today. It must be in the low 70's with NO humidity. It is July 1st. Less than a week ago, it was in the 90's and the air with thick in humid.
It was in the 60's at Christmas time, then two weeks later it dropped into the teens. It is no wonder people are sick or always stuff in this area. The weather and climate is SO unpredictable.
My daughter has had a runny nose for 6 months...I am sure that it is directly related to the crazy weather we have had for the last 6 months.

Children Learning Tolerance
It is interesting to me, how children learn tolerance and acceptance of special needs students or adults. While sitting at a restaurant at lunch today, a group of people came in together on a bus. They were all adults with special needs. They were making loud noises and walking close to other people and moving their arms all around.
My daughter and her friends were staring and trying to strain their necks to stare...my daughter started to make a comment to her friends when I looked at her and said, "You are not going to embarrass yourself and me are you? If your dad or sister or friend or mother had those conditions would you make fun of us?" She sheepishly said, "no.." Then do not embarrass yourself right now."
I wonder if that was the right thing to do. Now, one of the gentleman was yelling out moaning noises and I could tell it was making the girls uncomfortable. I said, "He may not go out very often and could be scared....like a baby that cries because they cannot speak words....he may be the same."
The girls accepted that and did not really react after that. I guess children learn empathy and tolerance and acceptance through example...and that learning is hands-on. There is not a whole lot I can say or do that will prepare them for what/who they may encounter throughout their lives. If anything, I hope to provide my girls with the tools (and common sense) to deal with life's little challenges. We'll see as they get old...

Cell Phone Etiquette - Can you hear me NOW?!"
I hate it when people chat on their cell phones on the airplane, JUST before take off, in elevators, in the grocery store checkout line...actually in any line that involves someone needing to have both hands to make the rest of the line waiters move forward. I can't STAND IT when phones ring in meetings, especially when the user has chosen the most annoying version of a familiar show tune... it is like listening to a 20 second clip of elevator music over and over again...but much much worse. Don't people realize that if you push ALMOST any button on your cell phone it will silence it? Then you turn it off...so it does not ring again...the same person will call back thinking they were cut off...
So, if you have a cell phone, please be polite to the poor people around you that have to listen to you say...."can you hear me NOW?"
I have a cell phone...I don't like using it in public...I excuse myself...like EVERYONE SHOULD...

Welcome
This, of course, is my blog. I want to use this so I can familiarize myself with blogging more. Hopefully I will use it.
Tech related, I attended the National Educator's Computing Conference in this week in Atlanta. Very cool stuff.
